To whom it may concern,

I have several inquiries with respect to the FISD data from WRDS.

In particular, my main task is to identify the underwriter for each bond issues. However, it is a little bit wired that the “issuer_name” and “agent_name” is the same. In my view, they should not be the same since the issuer name should be the firm’s name that issues bonds while agent name should be the underwriter’s name.

Also, when I checked the agent_type(e.g., for identifying which institution is the leading underwriter) variable as suggested from the manual book of FISD, it seems that the data collected from FISD of WRDS does not report such information (i.e., no agent_type variable).

Could you please so kind to help me in figuring out this issue?

Many thanks.

Best wishes.
