Dear Joost,

Sorry to disturb you.

I use directEDGAR to extract lines from 10Ks, and the results show two date: RDATE and CDATE. I am confused with these two dates. If I want to download certain fiscal year data, which date i should use and how to convert this date into fyear and yfr? Thank you so much.

Enclosed is the screenshot of my data.

Regards,
Emily

hi Emily,

I don’t recognize the variable names (I suppose one of them is the ‘reporting date’). (I haven’t used directEdgar)—does it come with a data manual?

Best Regards,

Joost

Dear Joost,

Thanks for your help. I have got the answer. The CDATE in 10k filing is the actual fiscal year end date and the RDATE is the filing date.

Thank you again.

Regards,
Emily
