Joost and everyone here,

I am using execucomp database, and from the manual it is not clear it is the current or historical cusip.

My logic here is, the execucomp database is listed under compustat quarterly update, therefore, i suppose it is current cusip (the same as in funda).

can anyone confirm this?

Thanks and have a great day!

hi Zenghui,

I am not sure, I would suspect it is header.

There is a gvkey in Execucomp if the issue is matching.

best regards,

Joost

Joost,

I want to match it with first call (Ncusip) database.

That is why i am wondering about this.

Thanks again,
Zenghui

BTW, you keep mention “header”, what is the intution of header variables?

Thanks a lot!!!

hi Zenghui,

Try:  crsp.dsenames

‘header’ is same as ‘current’.

best regards,

Joost

Compustat is a database of financial, statistical and market information on active and inactive global companies throughout the world. The service began in 1962.
This database provides a broad range of information products directed at institutional investors, universities, bankers, advisors, analysts, and asset/portfolio managers in corporate, M&A, private capital, equity, and fixed income markets. The database covers 99,000 global securities, covering 99% of the world’s total market capitalization with annual company data history available back to 1950 and quarterly available back to 1962 (depending when that company was added to the database).
