Joost,

Do you think we can put some wrds data together with the corresponding example sas code together? will that be legal?

If we have a handy data file for each example, that will be very cool. Offline study will be possible, and even i don’t have access to wrds, i can still learn the ideas from the example.

hi Zenghui,

I would prefer not to have any data samples online (even if they are small).

You will need internet + SAS to work with the examples, so accessing WRDS means just entering login/password, right?

best regards,

Joost

Joost,

totally understood.

the only point to put data on is sometimes, if i don’t access for the wrds data base the example using. i feel bad that i can only read the example, instead of run it on my computer.

not a big deal, don’t worry about it.

Cheers,

hi Zenghui,

Would it work for you if you would store files online?

Here is a discussion of options for (free) online storage:

Joost,

Thanks a lot for your recommendations.

I actually use both dropbox and mesh drive, all my files are automatically synced on school computer, home computer and laptops. I love dropbox very much. I can even recover files if i delete file by mistake. For teaching, this is really good tool too, when my powerpoint files don’t load from flash drive. It will be cool just download from dropbox.

Don’t worry about the question i raised on this topic. what i am trying to say is only my school didn’t buy some database, and if we can put a sample data there, then people in this case may still fully use the sample code. This is a minor point. don’t worry about it.

BTW, all my home desktop and school desktops are my DIY products. smile

Thanks a lot,
